Redmi revealed the Redmi K40 Gaming as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition smartphone last month. Within one minute of its launch, 100,000 units had been sold. The phone has mechanical buttons for gaming.
A pre-launch rumor claimed that the phone would come in a different version and with a less powerful chipset. Although the firm has just announced the Redmi K40 Gaming, both versions are anticipated to be unveiled at the same time.
The K series’ internal sources were just made public on Weibo, China’s largest social media platform. Redmi most certainly intends to debut in China this month.
The K40 Gaming Edition will reportedly feature yet another smartphone upgrade. Instead of the Dimensity 1200, it is anticipated to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 (MT6891) clocked at 2.6 GHz (MT6893). The K40 Gaming Edition I used has a 3.0 GHz top clock speed.
The Dimensity 1200 (MT6893) is different from the Dimensity 1100 (MT6891) in that the latter has a high-performance Cortex-A78 core with a speed of 3.0 GHz while the former has Cortex-A78 cores with a maximum speed of 2.6 GHz. The chipsets are made using 6nm technology and include a Mali-G77 MC9 graphics chip.
The K40 Gaming Lite could be the name of the smartphone, claims the report. It will cost less than the K40 Gaming Edition and sport a screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. has Full HD+ resolution capability, 10-bit color support, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The smartphone sports a 5000 mAh battery with 67,000 W quick charging and a 64-megapixel back camera.
This phone will probably enter the Chinese market as a more affordable Redmi K40 Gaming alternative. The price of the K40 Gaming phone is 1,999 yuan ($311). Hence, the Dimensity 1100 SoC variant’s starting price is either 1,699 Yuan ($264) or 1,999 Yuan ($249).
Redmi K40 Gaming’s model number is M2104K10C. The Redmi K40 Gaming Lite may be the M2104K10AC seen on stores like 3C, TENAA, and Master Lu. Master Lu claims that the device boasts an FHD+ display, a Dimensity 1100 CPU, 8 GB of Memory, and 256 GB of storage. Later this month, the purported Redmi K40 Gaming Lite will be released.
