On Windows 11, a wide range of third-party screen readers are accessible. The most often used ones are NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) and Job Access With Voice (JAWS). (Microsoft’s website contains a comprehensive list.)
Yet Narrator, a free built-in screen reader, is also available in Windows. The majority of individuals don’t use it as their primary screen reader because there are so many other solutions available. Yet, if you’re in the majority and can’t use your preferred software for whatever reason, borrowing someone else’s device might be helpful for a bit.
There are two options for activating the narrator.
How can I use my keyboard to open Narrator?
Press Control + Windows + Enter to launch Narrator if your keyboard has not been modified. By doing so, Narrator will start up along with Narrator Home, where you may explore its features and change its settings. You can scale it down, and the narrator will keep going (or exit Narrator).
How to activate the narrator in the access menu
In Windows 11’s accessibility options menu, Narrator can be activated. Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Narrator to turn it on.

HOW CAN I USE THE NARRATOR FROM THE DOCK?
The Windows search bar can be used to launch Narrator. In the search box that appears on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, type “Narrator” to achieve this.
Enter “Narrator” into the text box that displays, then select the top result. The narrator will begin.
In other words, choose All Programs and then scroll down to Windows Ease of Access to access the Start Menu. When you click on it, the option “Narrator” will appear underneath it.
